I haven’t changed the jewelry since I got it done at Piercing Pagoda last year (yes, I know, bad news, now I know about the dangers with the guns and such, you don’t have to tell me) It fell off in the shower this morning and I didn’t even feel it, I guess the little clip is all worn out. I found it and put it back in, so I’m not in a huge rush. I’d just like to get a new earring or two to keep that from happening again.
It’s a white-gold hoop, the post part is very, very thin and has the sharp piercing end, I assume it’s 20 or 22g.
I’m allergic to cheaper metal like nickel, so it has to be good quality stuff. I like silver-colored jewelry.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I love love love the website bodycandy.com. I get all my facial jewelry from this website. They have excellent customer service and they sell 14k gold and white gold jewelry. I have had the same nose ring in for two years (real gold) and the price was very very resonable. I have never had a problem with the real gold jewelry from this business. I did however buy a sterling silver hoop w/ a ball spacer and the glass ball cracked with i tried to introduce it between the hoop opening and I called them to complain and then quickly sent me a replacement ball PLUS additonal plastic and glass ones. They rock!

Ok so I have my cartalidge done on both sides and in each I have a small white gold hoop. It’s one of those seamless hoops that has one section that’s thinner ( that’s were you open and close it ).
Well I heard that you should be turning them everyday to keep the skin from fusing or healing attached to the metal.
I turned my one piercing and the larger part of the hoop went through fine and rotated no problem. But when I did the other the larger part of the hoop wouldn’t go through so I forced it through and when it finally went through it took alot of skin with it and was bleeding pretty bad.
Now it has some skin sticking out the back of the piercing hole and is kind of throbbing ( dosnt hurt to bad though ).
I know I shouldn’t have forced it through but I didn’t want to need two different gauged earrings. Is it possible for cartalidge to have a blow
out ( probably not right ) ? Should I rotate the hoop again so the thinner part is through the piercing ? Did the skin heal onto the piercing cus i was rotating it ? What happened, what should I do now ?
FYI I’ve had then since about a year and a half and clean them twice a day with saline solution …

You’re fine, keep the fat part in the hole otherwise it will shrink again, since you did draw blood I would suggest cleaning it with something antibacterial such as Polysporin, Traumeel, or a good soak in some warm water with Tea Tree Oil. You will also want to scrape anything stuck to the earring itself off… that will be a breeding ground for bacteria. Keep spinning your hoop. you will probably want to do this in the shower or following a warm water soak for the next couple of days since you will have tiny scabs, that way they will not tear but slide.
